Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling is a service we are proud to offer at our office in Montpelier and Williston, Vermont. We use a holistic approach to our counseling by utilizing traditional Chinese medicine’s ideas of food as medicine. Stop by our Washington County office to see how nutritional counseling can improve your quality of life!

Chinese Medicine Sees Food As Medicine

Food is an essential component to Traditional Chinese Medicine. All food is viewed as medicine in Chinese medical theory, and grouped according to its nature. Foods may be classified as warming, cooling, drying or moistening.

Your practitioner at Integrative Acupuncture will often make recommendations according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine for foods to help bring your body into balance. We often employ dietary modifications as the first step to correcting imbalances before recommending herbal formulas.

Your Nutritional Counseling Session

If you have tried nutritional counseling sessions and been unsatisfied, prepare for a customized and complete experience that’s totally different. Practitioners of Chinese medicine make modifications to diet based on a patient’s constitution.

We do not have preplanned diet plans for various diagnoses, rather we create an individual diet plan for each person. We take into consideration lifestyle and dietary preferences and leave you with a plan to reach your goals.

Integrative Nutrition

Diet is often discussed in your acupuncture, acupressure and massage treatments.  A separate nutrition appointment is rarely needed.  We offer stand only nutrition service for patients that would like to focus deeply on diet changes without a need for bodywork.
