SBA Vermont Announces Small Business Person of the Year
Montpelier, VERMONT: – Darcy Carter, district director of the U. S. Small Business Administration’s Vermont district office announced Kerry Boyle of Integrative Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as the 2024 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year.

Dr. Kerry Boyle is a licensed acupuncturist and doctor of Acupuncture in Montpelier, Vermont.
Kerry became interested in natural healthcare while working at health food stores in the 90s. She then pursued education at Bastyr University in Seattle Washington graduating with a Masters in Acupuncture in 2003. She spent 4 years traveling internationally, implementing, and launching acupuncture on board cruise ships.
In 2008 Kerry returned home to Vermont and founded Integrative Acupuncture. Her passion for her patients and leadership has allowed IA to grow to three locations, serving about 300 people per week. Her team of 12 consists of acupuncturists, massage therapists, naturopathic physicians, and valued support staff.
“My work as a healthcare provider is fueled by a passion to help people heal with acupuncture. But I found that I could expand my reach by creating a larger network of healers, while creating jobs and more access to this incredible medicine. “
In 2024 the SBA Vermont District Office is awarding nine awards in total including the following other categories:

- Minority Owned Business of the Year: Marie Esther Teme of Green Vision Cleansing, Burlington
- Small Business Manufacturer of the Year, Vermont and New England Winner: Dr. Marie Pavini of Healthy Design, Ltd Co. dba HD Medical, Rutland
- Financial Services Champion: Geoffrey Hesslink, CEO, Bank of Burlington, South Burlington
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Emiliano Void of nuwave Equity Corporation, Burlington
- Microenterprise of the Year: Wendy Mackenzie of Everlasting Herb Farm, Peacham
- Community Legacy Award: Ahmed Omar of Kismayo Kitchen, Burlington
Dr. Kerry Boyle and the other Vermont small business winners will receive their awards during the 2024 Vermont Small Business Awards Ceremony co-hosted with VermontBiz on June 12th in Burlington. This ceremony is open to the public and registration will be available in May.

The SBA will honor America’s small business heroes and veterans from across the country and announce the National Small Business Person of the Year.
This year’s virtual conference is free for any business owner or aspiring entrepreneur, will feature access to critical federal resources, educational workshops, and virtual networking. It is designed to help entrepreneurs pivot, grow, seize new opportunities, and access resources that help ensure that every American’s dream of starting a small business is within reach.
For nearly 60 years, National Small Business Week has highlighted the programs and services available to entrepreneurs through SBA and other government agencies.
